Kalieb Bey is a native of Winslow Township who graduated from Edgewood High school without a clear direction. He attended culinary school, theatre school and community college. He also had a few jobs but they lead him nowhere. During the spring of 2000 his life took a drastic change when he was arrested and convicted of armed robbery and aggravated assault. He plead guilty to 7 years with a mandatory minimum of 3 years. He said good bye to his family, including his newborn child and left to serve his time. It was a very devastating time for him and his family because they knew that he could have been doing something much more positive with his life.

While doing time in the New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJ D.O.C.) he managed to stay focused and concentrate on getting home. During his transition back into society only one person gave him the opportunity to get back on the right path. Anthony Dillard owner of Dillard Properties gave him a job when all other doors were shut. Humbled and grateful, Kalieb accepted a position at Dillard Properties making a low wage.  Although the opportunity with Dillard Properties was very encouraging, he knew that he wanted more out of life.

In the years to come, Kalieb became a volunteer speaker to at risk teens and a mentor to young men. Life started to look up. Kalieb went to Cosmetology School to become a barber and ended up becoming a hair stylist.  Kalieb’s life took a positive turn.  In three years he opened his first hair salon called Absolutely Fabulous Hair in Berlin, NJ, trailblazing his way through the industry, opening a second salon two years later.

Not being satisfied with owning salons, Kalieb wanted to do more. Building on his volunteerism, he started donating more time to helping people in his community. Today, he opens his business to young people who have been on the path that he was once on. He offers advice and guidance to get them on the right path. He has created a traveling youth football team that exposes young men to college campus life which teaches them what it takes to succeed on the college level. He has become a productive and positive role model. He continues to help others who have been in the same situation as him. Kalieb has turned his life completely around.
